Safety

It’s important that you can feel safe on your Wow Road Trip. Here is some information that is good to know before we go:

  • I am a very experienced driver and have been a part of the Swedish volunteer civil defence connected to traffic and logistics.
  • The car I drive is modern and in very good condition.
  • Wow Guide Algarve has all the insurances needed for companies who provide this kind of activities in Portugal.
  • I am trained in CPR and I have a well equipped First Aid bag and a fire extinguisher in the car.
  • There is always plenty of water in the car so if we for some reason get stuck somewhere for a while, it’s not going to be any problem.
  • I have been working with crisis preparedness and crisis handling for many years, also here in Portugal. If anything unpredictable happens, I have the knowledge and the calmness to take care of the situation.
  • And… I would never risk my clients’ health! If I would, besides which I love life way too much to take any unnecessary risks:-).

What I would ask you to prepare:

  • Bring medication that you might need. Even if we normally are home early in the evening it’s better to know that you have it, if we get delayed.
  • If you suffer from any kind of health problem, please let me know at time of booking. Then I can consider this and avoid locations or roads that don’t work for you.
  • If you get car sick sometimes, please take a pill before we leave and bring some also. We are partly traveling on small and twisty roads.
  • If you have any kind of food allergies or other allergies that I need to be aware of, please let me know when you book the tour.
  • We will probably pass several different climate zones and the weather can change quickly. Even if it’s sunny and warm where you wake up, please bring extra shoes, a wind jacket and warmer clothes than shorts and t-shirt. And – bring swimwear! We might jump into the water!
  • Use suncream directly in the morning and also bring some extra, please. Even if it’s cloudy, the sun is often much stronger than we think.
  • Please listen to my advice. If for example I ask you not to go closer to the edge of a cliff, there is a reason for it. Many of the sandy cliffs around the coastline are very fragile and there is a risk of collapses.
  • It is not allowed to bring alcohol or any drugs on the road trip. I will provide wine for the picnic.

Let’s go for a happy and safe Wow Road Trip!
