The coastline of the Algarve provides a wide diversity of sceneries. On this road trip, you will see rural nature, high cliffs, secluded beaches, picturesque villages in the countryside and ‘”the end of the world”. As if that were not enough, a picnic at a fortress from the 16th century, with a breathtaking view is included.

Towards the west, we’ll travel on small, beautiful roads where you get the opportunity to see how the landscape is changing. The western part of the Algarve shows a more rough nature and the olive trees will be replaced with small bushes and pines. Depending on the season, we can probably pick some fruit along the way. Oranges, lemons, figs…
Hidden, far out on a cliff, we find the Fort of Almádena, built 1632. This is a true wow-moment and I can promise you that this picnic location will offer you a spectacular view. Sitting on one of the old walls, we enjoy sandwiches, fresh fruit and local specialities together with coffee, tea, wine and water.

At “the end of the world” we stop by Fortalesa de Sagres placed on a magnificent cliff. One of many forts that has protected Portugal from intruders for hundreds of years. You will have time to walk around, take pictures and learn about the history.
On the way back to your accommodation, I will show you one of my favourite beaches in the Algarve. Not many people find it, because it’s a tricky road and no signs. If you want, you can have a swim or just go for a short walk on the sand and listen to the song of the waves. When you feel you’re ready, we head back and I drop you off where I picked you up.
This day will give you lovely memories and keep the value of your time in the Algarve in your heart for a long time. Price and value
